On March 10, our college held a video conference with Kentucky University in the United States. Both sides discussed the project on the establishment of postgraduate English teaching practice base in our faculty of English. Those postgraduate students are from linguistics and education majors for Arts and Sciences of Kentucky University. Chen wanli, vice president of our school, Prof Wu Jianguo, dean of the Faculty of English language and culture, Yantingguo, director of Foreign Affairs Department, Li Aiqun, vice president of Faculty of English language and culture, and Ju Junchao, vice director of Foreign Affairs Department, attended the meeting. Dr. Sarah Lyon, vice president of Graduate School of Kentucky University, Dr. stayc dubravac, director of the master of world language teaching (matfl), Dr. Francis Baily, director of TESL project, Dr. Jeffrey Peters, chairman of modern and classical languages and cultural literature, and Jesse hedge, assistant dean of international affairs, attended the meeting. 

At the meeting, Mr. Chen Wanli reviewed the overall background and strengths of our international education in the past five years. He stressed that the University of Kentucky was an important international exchange partner of our university, and the two universities should strengthen international cooperation to cultivate more international talents.

Prof Wu Jianguo introduced the college profile, the training objectives of students and the teaching staff. Dr. Sarah Lyon introduced the profile of the graduate school and relative information about the teaching practice program. After that, the two sides discussed the specific details of the project, such as dispatch time, visa processing, course hours, accommodation and transportation, and decided on the date and process for signing the legal and administrative documents.

        The establishment of the graduate teaching practice base from Arts and Sciences of the University of Kentucky in our college has expanded the exchanges and cooperation between the two universities, deepening the process of internationalization of our school, and improving to a higher level.
