OnFebruary 26, 2014, at the earnest invitation of SICFL, Mr. Li Wuwei, ViceChairman of 11th CPPCC and the former Vice Chairman of RevolutionaryCommittee of the Chinese Kuomintang, the famous economist and Doctoralsupervisor came to SICFL and gave a most impressive lecture to the teachers andstudents on the topic of developing the creativity. President Zhu Yixinpresided over the seminar. Chairman of the Board, Madame Qian Ying made thewelcoming remarks. After introducing Professor Li’s academic achievements,Madame Qian praised Professor Li as “The Father and Founder of China’sInnovative Industry” because he was the first person to have received the honorof “Outstanding Contribution to China’s Innovative Industry.”

ProfessorLi held that developing the innovative industry would be conducive to thestable adjustment of the economic structure. After the global financial crisisbroke out in 2008, there appeared the innovative industry, which became theleading industry stepping out of the recession. Therefore, stepping up itsefforts to develop innovative industry vigorously was generally agreed amongcountries as the new approach to gain the favor in international competition.Professor Li also stressed that developing the innovative industry wouldfacilitate the optimization and upgrading of China’s industrial structure,accelerate the city’s economic transformation and realize the strategic goal of“striving forward through innovation, achieving the development by means oftransformation.”

Professor Li explained indetail three major approaches to realize the city transformation. To beginwith, the reconstruction of old areas of the city should be accomplishedtogether with the introduction of cultural innovative industry; moreover, weshould tap potential of various kinds of cultural resources in the developmentof innovative industry; and finally the flagship items of innovative industryshould be established so as to rejuvenate the local economy.

Professor Li’s lecture wasinterrupted by thunderous applause by the audience for many times. At the endof the lecture, Professor Li answered the questions posed by teachers andstudents from the audience.

Afterthe lecture, Professor Li made the following inscription for SICFL:“Carryingforward the traditional culture and combining it with the new one; widelyaccepting the Chinese and foreign knowledge to make a comprehensive one.”Accompanied by leading personnel of the College, Professor Li visited “Fu Lei’s Life Gallery” and “Sino-Korean Culture& Communication Historical Material Gallery”. He spoke very highly of theefforts that SICFL had made in the construction of campus culture and fully affirmedthe merits SICFL had achieved in training students to become talents withhigh-level abilities of application.
